What is on my mind this morning that is worth sharing? I have been meaning to share some very valuable information about zippers. We zip up and we zip down, taking for granted that there exists mortality for zippers.
Especially during this time of the year when we are trying to wear our boots, jackets, jeans, and such things with zippers. We forget that they sit up for almost a year. We pull them out and assume they are ready to go. Ready to go until the zipper gets stuck. Then it is “Oh My!”. Not because of the zipper, naturally we have to start over with deciding what to wear. This simple trick will work, even when you may think it is time to see the Cobbler. I recently had a leather bag zipper go hay wire. Even though I knew the trick, I thought it had reached beyond that. Thirty bucks a pop for zipper repair. One particular morning I needed my bag. As it is more like a weekender bag and weather proof, I cannot move on without it. Desperately, I decided to rub the candle wax up and down the zipper. It was only one zipper that was drastically malfunctioning. I gave it a few strokes up and down. I tugged on the stuck out of line zipper and was able to pull it all the way across. How amazing was that? Accomplished as I was able to use my bag that morning. Yes, good ole fashioned candle wax does the trick. I have some cheap tealight candles. I took one, broke it up and caressed the zipper with the largest piece. When this wonderful man some years back shared this bit of knowledge with me, I used it on any zipper I hadn`t impatiently devoured. and it worked. Perhaps it is like WD-40 but for zippers. It is Sunday, I am wishing you all a wonderful to start to your new week. Whatever did not work last week, leave it there and do not repeat. I hope you found value in my topic. As always, please leave a comment and or share.
